Back by popular demand, Gil Rudawsky of Denver-based GroundFloor Media take a tongue-in-cheek look at the year’s biggest PR studs and duds!

    Gil Rudawsky | Vice President

Gil Rudawsky brings more than two decades of communications and journalism experience to GFM. This translates into expert counsel for our clients, particularly in the areas of issues management, reputation management and public policy campaigns. When it comes to client crises/issues, he has helped clients navigate class-action lawsuits, government investigations, product recalls, employee issues, financial malfeasance and community and legislative issues.

Gil is a former journalist with experience managing and covering numerous crisis events such as executive indictments, legislative battles, school shootings, forest fires and economic and political issues. He is a regular contributor to Ragan's PR Daily and the Denver Business Journal on crisis communication issues and is quoted locally and nationally regarding crisis/issues management topics.

At GFM, Gil leads a variety of accounts that cover various specialties including crisis communication and public policy. He has helped companies and organizations maintain a strong reputation during all types of crises. Gil also works with clients looking to influence or gain support for public policy issues.

Prior to joining GFM, Gil was deputy editor on the business and metro desks at the Rocky Mountain News. He covered major scandals and events and interviewed high-profile individuals including President Bill Clinton, Hunter S. Thompson and Benjamin Netanyahu. Gil estimates being pitched by PR professionals at least 50,000 times in his reporting career, which helps him craft pitches and story angles that resonate with reporters.

A Colorado native, Gil worked at newspapers in Aspen, Colo.; Florida; and Boulder, Colo., before being hired by the Rocky as a reporter covering the skiing and tourism industry.

He graduated from the University of Southern California (USC) with a philosophy degree and was a member of USC’s swim team. He also attended the University of Colorado Graduate School of Journalism. Gil is a member of the Society of Business Editors and Writers and was an Environmental Business Fellow for the Property and Environmental Research Center and a Business and Economics Fellow for the National Press Foundation.

Gil lives in Boulder with his wife and son. When he’s not at work or spending time with his family, he’s either on his road or mountain bike or trying to put together a foursome for 18 holes of golf.
